Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Training for the Police Training Course

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Training for the Police

This course supports police officers, staff and leadership teams to strengthen their understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and apply these principles confidently in day‑to‑day policing, community engagement and internal workplace culture.

Why This Training Matters

Policing in the UK is evolving rapidly. Communities are more diverse, expectations of fairness and transparency are higher, and public confidence is shaped by how officers interact with the people they serve. Equality, diversity and inclusion are not optional extras — they are central to ethical policing, community trust and professional standards.

This training helps officers and staff understand how discrimination, bias and inappropriate behaviour can affect public perception, operational decision‑making and workplace relationships. It also supports forces in meeting legal obligations, improving internal culture and strengthening community confidence.

Course Overview

The session provides a practical introduction to equality, diversity and inclusion within policing. Delegates explore real‑world scenarios, operational challenges and workplace behaviours that influence fairness, professionalism and public trust. The course is suitable for officers, PCSOs, staff, new recruits, supervisors and leadership teams.

The training is designed to be accessible, engaging and directly relevant to frontline and support roles. It focuses on building confidence, improving decision‑making and strengthening inclusive practice across the force.
