Race and Allyship Training Course

This Race and Allyship Training Course is designed for senior leaders and employees seeking a deeper understanding of Allyship and its role in promoting racial equality. The session explores what it means to be an Ally, the importance of Allyship in the workplace, and the actions individuals can take to challenge bias and support colleagues from underrepresented groups. Delegates learn how to recognise microaggressions, respond effectively, and become proactive change agents who foster inclusion and respect across their organisation.

Allyship is more than awareness — it is about taking meaningful action to support others and challenge inequality. This course helps participants understand the concept of Allyship, its importance in building equitable workplaces, and the behaviours that demonstrate genuine support.

Delegates explore how race and privilege intersect, how microaggressions affect individuals and teams, and how Allies can use their influence to create positive change. The training encourages reflection, empathy and accountability, equipping participants with practical tools to act as advocates for racial equality.

Real‑World Scenarios

These scenarios help delegates explore how Allyship can be demonstrated in real workplace situations involving race, bias and inclusion.

Scenario 1: Speaking Up

During a team meeting, a colleague makes a stereotypical comment about a racial group. Most people stay silent to avoid conflict.

  • How an Ally can intervene respectfully and effectively
  • Supporting affected colleagues afterwards
Scenario 2: Amplifying Voices

A Black or Asian colleague raises a concern about unequal treatment, but their point is overlooked or minimised.

  • How Allies can amplify underrepresented voices
  • Ensuring concerns are taken seriously by leadership
Scenario 3: Challenging Systems

A workplace policy unintentionally disadvantages staff from ethnically diverse backgrounds. Leadership is unaware of the impact.

  • How Allies can raise systemic issues constructively
  • Working collaboratively to create fairer processes

Understanding Allyship and Race

Allyship involves recognising privilege, listening to lived experiences and taking action to challenge inequality. It requires courage, empathy and a willingness to learn. This course explores how Allies can use their position to advocate for racial equality and create environments where everyone feels valued and respected. Delegates examine the impact of microaggressions, the importance of speaking up and the role of Allies in driving cultural change. Through discussion and reflection, participants learn how to move from passive support to active engagement, ensuring that Allyship becomes part of everyday organisational practice. The training empowers individuals to become change agents who model inclusive behaviour and help build workplaces rooted in fairness and respect.
